GOOGLE LAUNCHES VERIFIED CALL FEATURES TO IDENTIFY GENUINE CALLERS

Google is bringing verified Calls feature, Truecaller will get competition

Google has written in blogpost that spam and spam call is also a big problem in India. In 2019, the former Queen of Patiala responded to a call from an unknown number and suffered a loss of Rs 23 lakh at the hands of a scammer. Google hopes that verified calls can diagnose such a problem.

Google has announced the Verified Calls feature for Android device users. This feature is similar to Truecaller, which will help protect the user from fraudulent phone calls. With this new feature, the user will be able to verify the actual business number. By the way, the problem of fraud caused by phone is not only in India, but around the world. Now Google's Verified Calls feature will also show you the identity of the caller. In this regard, Google has written a blog post. The Verified Calls feature is first being released in India, Mexico, Brazil, Spain and the United States, followed by other parts of the world.

Will get rid of spam call

This verified Calls feature will be in the Android phone app. Usually this app is pre-loaded on most Android phones. If you have opted for the manufacturer's custom dialer in the phone, then this feature will also be available for download in a few days. When you receive a call from a verified business, you will see the name, a verification symbol (white tick on the blue shield) and the reason for making the call.

Google has stated in its blogpost that after verification, Google does not store or collect any personally identifiable information. Truecaller may get challenged after the introduction of this feature. Truecaller app is very popular in India and it is useful in filtering spam calls. But the special thing about Google verified calls is that it also explains the reason for the call. This may help you to accept or ignore the call.
